What's happening:

After two insurance claims, Spring is here?? Winter has been a tough one this year. Just after we got the "tomato house" prepped and planted with cover crop, we experienced a small tornado lifting it up and placing it, upside down and twisted, in one of our Large garden areas. We thank the heavens that the rabbits had all been relocated from inside the "tomato house" to their summer home location.

We also lost our big old boy goat, Rocky, to old age. He crossed the "rainbow bridge" during the winter, which was tough on all the animals. Buster and Diego had a rough bout with a low immune system but bounced back and are enjoying all the new spring growth.

With Spring at hand, we forge ahead and continue our preparations for our summer season. As with everything this year, the season will likely be late. Still waiting for the rains to subside enough to get the potatoes in. Garlic and beets look great! Cool crops are going in amidst the constant downpours, and bits of sunshine.

We are looking ahead to our annual participation in the Spring Garden Fair, Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7. Hours Saturday are 9-5pm and Sunday 9-4PM. The event is held at the Canby Fair grounds and is always a treat to participate along with our fellow gardening neighbors. Please come and enjoy all the gardening treasures, and of course stop by to see us.

The Spring Garden Fair always gives us a chance to share our yacon products. We will have crowns (bare root stock), healthy potted plants and our yacon tea products.

In addition, we will be offering our surplus summer veggies starts. We have a great selection of tasty tomato and pepper plants to choose from.

We love to share information about our amazing yacon plant and continue to enjoy its benefits. In addition to being a powerful prebiotic, this amazing tuber offers many additional health benefits. As a natural sweetener, it provides a mild flavored sweetness to salads and smoothies without affecting glucose levels. Some of the additional health benefits of yacon include its ability to regulate blood sugar levels, lower 'bad' cholesterol, help with weight loss, lower blood pressure, improve the health of the liver, prevent certain types of cancer, boost digestive health, and strengthen the immune system.

Our yacon crowns and plant starts are available for planting in your next summer garden. The healthy plant starts (potted in gallon continuers) are easy to plant for the beginner gardener interested in the amazing plant. We hope you will consider this fun plant when planning your 2017 gardens. Let us know if you have any questions as we are here to help you learn about Yacon and be successful with this plant.

Our new load of certified organic compost has arrived and we are willing to share... We will sell this beautiful compost for your fall garden by the bucket. It's a great deal for this certified organic dairy compost and less waste than buying in bags.

Feel free to let us know if you would like to come out to enjoy a nice walk in the forest, a family picnic or walk around the labyrinth.

We are now actively planning for the 2017 Solar Eclipse happening in August 2017. Over the weekend of 18-21 of August 2017, fellow Mollala Farm Loop members will be hosting events for this weekend to celebrate this exciting event. Stay tuned as we continue the planning for the weekend. Book the farm stay, or a camp spot for your tent or RV.

Our plans include a concert with Jazz/Blues musician Robbie Laws, nightly BBQ, daily walks around the forest trails, specialty food and drinks... and of course blueberry picking! Stay tuned for additional details.

We continue to enjoy our guests at the "Farm Stay". We are currently taking reservations for your weekend getaway, week day office gatherings or a special birthday party. We also offer gift certificates for the special someone who might enjoy a "bit of country".

Check out our new and improved booking tool for our MoonRidge Farmstay. We are excited about the tool and hope you will find it fun and easy to use as well. We are also included on, a great site about farm stays in the US.

Let us know how we can assist with your booking, help prepare for your visit, or send a gift certificate to a special friend or family member.

Our store front is fully stocked to offer bagged and bulk organic teas, jams, syrups, honey and bee products, holiday items, gardening goodies and fall organic produce!

Try something special for your summer table! Let us know if you have any questions or need ideas for preparation!

We continue to be members of the Tri-County Farms and Mollala Farm Loop! The Tri-County Farm brochure is a great resource for u-pick and ready pick farms in the area. Tri-County Farm Fresh Produce Guides will be available at the farm and various community locations throughout the season. The Molalla Farm Loop features farms and local businesses in the area that provide an interesting rural experience for those who want to take a little time to explore the area. We will be sharing events throughout the season and will provide updates of Farm Loop events as well.

As always we are actively seeking volunteers and community members who might want to get involved in our efforts here at the farm and in our community! Let us know what you are interested in! We can always use help keeping up with the weeds, tending to the flower gardens and maintenance of all kinds!

We will continue to offer picnic areas, a medicine wheel labyrinth walk, forest trails and backyard event areas for small gatherings! During the summer we offer U-Pick produce, flowers, and farm fun along with our family of farm animals ... Buster (goat) who is getting up in age but still as nosey as ever! The goat does, Daisy and Bella are healthy and happy in the fields! Our wonderful flock of Turkins that are laying lovely big brown eggs and of course our current waggle of pugs ... Pixie, Lucy Lou, Sugar and our big boy "Thunder!" We look forward to sharing our farm and the peaceful countryside with you!
